Andy Barker

Andy Barker, 43, has 18 years experience working within the media sector in the North of England. He began his journalistic career with North East press working as a reporter on the daily evening newspaper the Sunderland Echo and as head of news at the Star Series group of six weekly newspapers (with a distribution of more than 250,000 covering South Tyneside down to Teesside.)

Andy went on to work as a freelance journalist supplying copy to local North East TV and radio, national magazines and national newspapers.

He moved into PR with a North-based consultancy in the late 90s managing its North East operation while handling PR activity for clients such as National Grid, NEDL (Northern Electric Distribution Limited), Yuill Group, VisitBritain (formerly the English Tourism Council) and Halifax.

In January 2000 he returned to journalism as part of the launch team of the regional daily free newspaper Metro News. Andy returned to PR in 2001 taking up a directorial role with a private PR company overseeing activity in both the North East and Yorkshire office.

In 2005 Andy became a freelance consultant and set up Results Network PR and Marketing, currently based at The Quadrus Centre. He was born and brought up in the Sunderland area and has a wide range of contacts within the media and business community gained through his 16 years experience. He is an associate member of the Institute of Business Advisors.

Andrea Thurlbeck

Andrea Thurlbeck is an award winning journalist with 18 years media experience. Starting her career in Manchester Andrea wrote for the Salford City Reporter before moving back to her native North East to work for the Hartlepool Mail. She has also written features for a number of regional and national publications on a freelance basis and was the ITN Reporter for the 1992 General Election for Salford East Constituency.

She moved on to the Sunderland Echo where she spent time as Consumer Editor and Crime Reporter winning press awards for her work. Andrea also has experience in editing and overseeing magazine production both regionally and nationally during her time with the Sunderland Echo and independently.

She joined Results Network in a senior management role in 2007.
